I am a single mother, my son will be attending Hanover college this fall, in Hanover, Indiana. His tuition, room and board, etc will be between $39,000 and $42,000 per year, although he will be receiving the Pell grant and some scholarships straight from Hanover, my out of pocket cost is going to range from $10,000 to $16,000. I go to school myself and have a 7 year old at home, I cannot pick up anymore hours at work for this reason and have no idea how I am going to pay $761.00 per month for his education. He is going to be majoring in Political Science and hopes to go on to pre law. Is there any scholarships that it isn’t too late for him to receive? He doesn’t even have enough money left over to buy his books and just 3 of those are going to be $366.00 and the other 2 he needs aren’t listed yet. Those are going to be out of pocket for me as well.. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

    Bobbie,

have you looked into college bursaries and/or bursaries from the government? Also read about the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs scholarships grants. Student loans without cosigner needed are a great last resort.
