There are plenty of clubs which offer club scholarships grants out there. Most people don’t know about them and they tend to be unknown scholarships unless your a member of that particular club. For example the Key Club International Scholarship Program. If you are a member of any high school key club program, you can apply for them. They don’t have just one scholarship program offered either.

All you need though is just one application and you will be possibly approved for several of them. This sure beats filling out one application after another. However, it also means you should really take your time. You want your application to stand apart from the other applicants. That way you can have the best chance of being awarded some of the available funds for college.

To be eligible for such club scholarships you must be an active Key Club member that is in good standing. You also have to be involved for at least two years during your high school career. Your dues must be current so that you are on file as a member of Key Club International. You must be a senior in high school with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Applications are taken from January 1st through April 15th. The amounts awarded and the number of scholarships offered varies from year to year. It depends on the amount of funding that they have available to offer.

Club Scholarships for Club Members

The Garden Club of America Wetlands Scholarship is one you should consider. They offer one club scholarship annually for a graduate student in the area of coastal wetland studies. The award is a stipend of $5,000 for field based research to take place. The goal of this little known scholarship is to help promote wetlands conservation efforts.

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college program. Applications are taken from November 1st through January 15th of the following year. A written plan for the work that the student wishes to take on in this area must be with the application.

The Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships are offered through local Rotary Clubs. You will have to contact yours locally to see if they participate in the program or not. If they do, you can get an application from them. The period of time when they will be accepting applications and when they are due will vary by location.

The number of club scholarships that are offered as well as the dollar amount of them will also vary. It depends on how much funding the local Rotary Clubs have available to them to allocate. Generally, the funding amounts depend on the geographic location and the available population in that particular area.

Many communities have the Boys and Girls Club. This is a location where students can come to do homework, to have snacks, and for recreation after school. Such programs promote education, community, and a safe environment for children who would otherwise be home alone after school.

Your community may get funding from the Boys and Girls Club for obscure scholarships. It is a good idea to ask them locally about it. You should be a member of the organization for at least one year in good standing. There could be certain stipulations that the local club will have for their scholarship applicants.

The deadlines can vary by location, so that is also information you will need to ask about. The number of unknown scholarships awarded and their amounts will depend on the location. It will also depend on the amount of funding the Boys and Girls Club has for a given year. They are often very generous, and such club scholarships could be a good match for those that have special circumstances or that have been at a high risk of not completing their high school education.

There are plenty of such club scholarships grants out there which are unknown to students unless you are a member of that specific club. Find out what is available for the various types of clubs and organizations that you are involved with. You will likely be pleasantly surprised to discover just how much money is available out there through such programs and the competition may not be as great as other more well known scholarship programs.
