Event Title: Financial Aid Assistance for Sewickley Academy
    Date: June 30th, 2011

To Whom It May Concern: June 30th, 2011
My name is Shalena Lindsey and I am writing on the behalf of my daughter, Kennedy Lindsey. Kinnedy is currently 8 years old and has recently been accepted to Sewickley Academy to further her education.
To provide you with some background, Sewickley Academy is a prestigious school for intelligent young students that is intended to bring forth the maximum abilities of the students participating in their programs. The Academy delivers a very rigorous curriculum that will challenge Kennedy’s full academic, social and creative potential.
The Academy also provides some of life lessons that will help Kennedy adapt to a number of hurdles as she continues to develop; including core values such as Character, Educational Vigor, Diversity, and Community.
Kennedy has shown an incomparable academic prowess that is only limited by what resources are available for her as she continues to excell both in and out of the classroom, making her family extremely proud.
Like with most great opportunities there are always walls that we need get through, which is why I am coming to you today. Although Kennedy is more than capable of succeeding academically, I will need to seek assistance in funding her education. Sewickley Academy tuition costs 17,375.00 per year to attend and I simply can not afford to send Kennedy to the school at this amount and as a mother, I want what is best for her in order to help her reach her maximum potential.
Currently, Kennedy has been placed in the financial aid wait pool. Although we missed the financial aid requirement date the first year she was eligible due to the period of time we discovered her eligibility, the school was so impressed with her academic test scores that they chose to file the scores and use them for the next academic year, which again shows Kennedy’s potential.
In order to help be part of Kennedy’s destiny to be one of our nations greatest and brightest leaders of the future, I will need your support in helping her travel safely down the Yellow Brick road much like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz to find her way home and obtain her dreams that will secure her future.
In conclusion, please let me know if you need any further details or have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you in hopes that we will be able to help my daughter Kennedy M. Lindsey achieve her goals for the future. Thank-You!
    Sincerely,

    Shalena C. Lindsey

  2. Shalena,

have you looked into Kohls Scholarship Program? Yours is a question we get asked a lot but we target students looking to attend college – college scholarships. There are many scholarships/award programs from companies connected to kids through their products which you may want to investigate into. For example, Jif has a kid scholarship for ages 6 – 12 and the awards are substantial. Look at any product in your home which your child uses and call the company to see what financial awards contest/scholarship they may have. You may be surprised how many sponsor one. Also there are tons of poem scholarships for kids too which may be an option. Most of these just give financial awards to use any way you want. Read up on unknown scholarships which have very creative ways of finding monies for school.
