The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computer Scholarships is administered each year by the National Center for Women and Information Technology. The organization was founded in year 2004, and operates in a joint effort between companies, colleges & non-profits towards increasing the relative embodiment of women towards technology careers. From the 1960’s going forward to today, woman’s presence in the technology workforce has plummeted from an estimated 37% in 1985; to approximately 18% in the year 009. With the contributions of scholarships through the ‘NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computer Scholarships’, this organization hopes that they will be able to competently encourage young women to seek degrees in related fields, and therefore increase the number of women throughout the technology industries.

The next step would be to review the eligibility requirements through the specific affiliate competition, and if you’re eligible, start the application process to the specific scholarship award.
