Cargill Community Scholarship for High School
Cargill Scholarships

If you live in a community that is near any Cargill business, you may be eligible for one of the Cargill Community Scholarship Programs. Often, unknown scholarships that are available in a student’s local community are over looked as a possible source of funding for a higher education because students simply aren’t aware of them. This very well could be the case with the Cargill scholarship for high school students. Cargill hands out large amounts of relatively unknown scholarships each and every year and all high school students should take the time to apply if they default into the Cargill scholarship criteria. These can be easy scholarships for many high school students.

Cargill is an international producer and marketer of food, agricultural, financial & industrial products and services. Started in 1865, Cargill has 159,000 employees world wide in 68 countries. Cargill is an innovative company which has been prosperous at challanging economic, environmental and social problems head on.

The Cargill Scholarship Program includes three different scholarships – the Cargill Community Scholarship Program, the Cargill Scholarship Program for Sons & Daughters – High School Juniors, and the Cargill Scholarship Program for Sons & Daughters – High School Seniors.

To be eligible for the Cargill Community Scholarship Programs community scholarship, you must be a high school senior, and you must live in a community near a Cargill business operation. While the scholarship application must be signed by someone who works for Cargill, Cargill employees and their children are not eligible for this particular HS scholarship.

The amount of this scholarship for high school seniors award is $1000, and a $200 grant is given to each winner’s high school library as a bonus. This is a one time award and it is awarded to 350 students annually. Applications are usually due in February of each year, and the winners are notified in May. The application is usually available from the Cargill website in November of each year.

The other two scholarship types make up the rest of the Cargill Community Scholarships Programs, and these corporate scholarships are for the children of Cargill employees. The first one is the Cargill Scholarship Program for Sons & Daughters – High School Juniors. As the name implies it is awarded to high school juniors, and only ten of these scholarships are awarded annually. Students should apply during their junior year of high school, and applications are due in February.

The amount of this scholarship for high school juniors is $1000, for each year of college, up to four years. Any high school junior is eligible if they have a parent working for Cargill, and if they have taken the PSAT/NMSQT. Remember, that this is a renewable scholarship, meaning that you will receive $1000 for each year that you are in college, but there may be conditions such as maintaining a certain grade point average to remain eligible. Your parent will also need to remain an employee of the company to retain eligibility.

The second high school scholarship, the Cargill Scholarship Program for Sons & Daughters – High School Seniors, have the same guidelines and requirements, except that the student must be a senior when they apply. (40) of these scholarships are awarded each year, but they are one time awards, in the amount of $3000.

If you are eligible for either of these unknown scholarships for high school students for sons and daughters, you should apply for both – in your junior year of high school, and again in your senior year. These high school scholarships are not made available to graduate students.

If you are not eligible for these high school scholarships, or you do not win one, be aware that the Cargill Community Scholarship Programs have other options, such as internship programs or employee tuition reimbursement programs. Check with your high school guidance counselor or visit the Cargill Scholarship website to get more information about their scholarships and these other opportunities.

The Siemens Scholarship Program

The Siemens scholarship program is provided every year through a partnership between Siemens and the American Society for Clinical Pathology.

The Siemens Scholarships

The Siemens scholarship program is provided every year through a partnership between Siemens and the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Through this partnership there are at least three different Siemens scholarships for healthcare diagnostics available to students who meet the eligibility requirements and have the chops to make it through to selection. On top of the Siemens scholarship program, the Siemens Foundation itself funds a number of merit scholarships which are designed to competitively award the children of employees based on academic performance, volunteer work and general interest in their chosen fields of interest. These programs are almost entirely made possible by the Siemens Foundation which has a special interest in supporting programs that focus on science, math and technology. The group gives out over 7 million dollars every year to deserving groups, foundations and individuals to see towards pushing their interest in technology, science, math and providing students with financial assistance towards higher education goals. All of the Siemens scholarships are little known by most students thinking about aid for college.

As mentioned above, the Siemens scholarship as provided through the American Society for Clinical Pathology is a great source for financial assistance. There are three forms of this program – the general scholarship, the legacy program and the graduate support initiative. While all based on similar concepts, they do vary with regards to the amounts given out and eligibility criteria. The deadline for all programs are posted after August when the application process opens up, so students interested in them should keep their eyes on the website to make sure they do not miss any important dates.

The Siemens general scholarship gives out 50 different $1,000 awards every year. Students who are interested in this program will need to be enrolled in an accredited program, be in their fourth year of clinical studies, have at least a 2.8 grade point average and be a United States citizen. Looking now to the Siemens healthcare diagnostics student legacy scholarship readers will see that some of the requirements do in fact change. While students will still need to be enrolled in an accredited program, children of healthcare diagnosticians may apply to it so long as they maintain a 2.8 grade point average and are United States citizens. This second program provides $2,000 to ten different students. Finally, the Siemens graduate scholarship sees not only a change in eligibility but also an increase in the difficulty of applying. All applicants are expected to be enrolled and actively a part of a graduate program, already involved in a graduate project, hold a certificate in healthcare diagnosis, have at least a 3.0 grade point average and be United States citizens. The graduate scholarship program gives out $1,000 to five different students every year.

This is of course not the only type of scholarship given out by the Siemens company Foundation. Every year the foundation also awards a number of merit-based scholarships of $6,000. These Siemens merit scholarships last for a total of four years with $1,500 being disbursed each academic cycle. All applicants should be US citizens, have taken the Preliminary SAT during their junior year of high school, be planning to enter college full time the next fall and maintain their academic strength while attending college. Further all students applying to the program must be children of current Siemens employees. Applications are due no later than April 1 of every year. In 2010 and 2011 60 different students receiveawards through the Siemens merit scholarship program.

All in all, the Siemens Foundation is one of the more charitable organizations out there with regards to providing financial assistance for the purpose of higher education. Their interest in providing assistance to students who are looking for careers in health is incredibly clear through their participation with American Society for Clinical Pathology. Between all of the programs they provide aid through, the Siemens healthcare diagnostics student graduate scholarship and merit based Siemens scholarship cumulatively end up with at least 125 different awards every year. It’s may be well worth your while applying to these unknown scholarships with so many being given out annually.

Subway Scholarships are Little Known

The fast food Subway scholarships are one example of corporate businesses that seek to encourage its workers to further their education via Subway and beyond.

subway-scholarships
Subway Scholarships

Many businesses offer little known corporate scholarships to current or former employees and often extend eligibility to employees’ family members. The fast food Subway scholarships are one example of businesses that seek to encourage its workers to further their education and pursue their dreams at Subway and beyond. Corporate scholarships are becoming more and more common and while once underutilized by students searching for scholarship money, awareness of these is growing. Even smaller companies are starting to offer scholarships. Not all companies require employment with the business for eligibility, so you should still investigate this type of scholarship. Many corporations, like Subway, offer college scholarships for a variety of reasons: to promote education and their business, to enrich the lives of community members, even as advertisement or a public relations move. If you have worked at a large company or franchised corporation, you should definitely inquire about corporate scholarship opportunities as they may not be highly publicized.

Fred DeLuca, Subway’s founder values education. In fact, the idea for the Subway Corporation was born directly from DeLuca’s own desire to further his education past a high school diploma. As a 17-year old high school graduate in 1965, he did not have the money to continue on to college. Instead, he and family friend Peter Buck opened a submarine sandwich shop as a means to earn the money needed. Within 10 years they had more than financed their futures, having opened 16 stores in Connecticut with many more to follow. Subway had been born from dedication, hard work and dreams – all of which the owners hope for and expect from their employees. The Subway scholarship was a natural way to invest in all of those things and for DeLuca and Buck to give back to Subway employees.

Subway employees and their children are eligible for a subway college scholarship if a few requirements are met. Employees must have worked for Subway for at least 15 hours a week for six months and parent employees with children seeking a scholarship must work for a minimum of 30 hours a week. Students must be attend an accredited two- or four- year college anywhere in the world and maintain a 2.75 or higher GPA. Offering these unknown scholarships coincides with Subway’s emphasis on family. They seek to build strong relationships between all employees, the community, and the business, as individuals within a family must. The Subway Corporation wants to help take care of the people who have helped to make Subway a success.

Most Subway scholarships are $1000 and are distributed to the college of choice in two semester increments, during the student’s freshmen year. It is important to check the fast food scholarships by Subway specifically available in your state of residence, as some states may have Sub scholarships that range up to $3000. For instance, Subway of South Carolina offers a $3000 obscure scholarship. All the fast food scholarship applications are accepted between the months of September and November with a winner being announced in late November or early December. Recipients are chosen based on the perceived ability of the applicant to succeed in their chosen area of study and on his/her academic merit. It does not matter what that subject matter is as long as the student seems dedicated to it and able to succeed in it.

Since Subways are now franchised, the remote scholarship in a given city or area may have more specific criteria, based on the employers interests or decisions. Many Subway scholarships are even named after an influential former/current employee to serve as an honor to that individual and a statement about the type of individual being sought for recognition. When searching for the correct little known scholarship from Subway for you, make sure you find the award affiliated with the Subway in which you were employed or at a minimum, the state Subway Scholarship Committee in which you reside. You can email Subway at thornberg_@subway.com to find out which affiliates you can contact for your area, or use the contact information below to call them direct. Some affiliates will even provide scholarships for students who have no affiliation with the company whatsoever and who are looking for student aid.

Claim Verizon Scholarships before their Gone

Verizon scholarships come in a number of forms from those for children of Verizon employees to targeted ethnic minorities.

verizon-scholarships
Verizon Scholarships

Apart from being one of the largest nationwide mobile and landline telephone service providers, the company Verizon provides its own Verizon scholarships every year. Through the company’s charitable arm, the Verizon Foundation, Verizon scholarships come in a number of forms from those for children of Verizon employees to targeted ethnic minorities. Some of these programs are not promised on into the future and the Verizon Foundation has shifted their giving focus several times in the past, so students interested in applying for potential programs should act while they are available. Because of the often temporary nature of the Verizon scholarship, or at the very least the lack of a promised future for such programs, students should be weary of old information making sure to check in on scholarship websites to double check the current status of a given program.

The two most stable Verizon college scholarships appear to be the employee scholarship and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund programs, though the National Association of Asian American Professionals has a program available until 2012. Interested students should look directly to the Verizon Foundation or do yearly searches regarding Verizon scholarships in order to be sure they have the most current information regarding available programs.

The Verizon scholarship for employees has been in place for a number of years and represents the most common or long lasting program the Verizon Foundation offers. This Verizon scholarship program is available to high school seniors who are children of Verizon employees who are planning to attend a four year university in 2011. In order to be eligible for the program applicants must be the child of an employee for a formal Verizon company such as Verizon Wireless or Verizon Corporate. Further the employee must be the legal guardian or parent of the student applying and the student must currently be in high school. This Verizon scholarship is available for those students who are children of Verizon employees in the United States but is also available for those employed outside of US territory.

Finally the program is only available for those children of employees who have been on the job for 90 days or more. Financial need is one of the most important factors in determining who will be awarded a Verizon scholarship. The full Verizon award is $20,000 which will be given out in amounts of $2,500 for each semester a student attends a university and maintains strong academic progress. All material must be submitted no later than February 1 and award decisions will be made by April.

Another Verizon scholarship which has some sign of great stability is the Hispanic Scholarship Fund scholarship which awards $2,000 to winning recipients. In order to be eligible for this phone scholarship all students must have attended Verizon’s yearly Tu Mandas workshops held at local high schools around the country and be a legal resident of the United States. Applicants must be preparing to enroll full time at a community college or four year university in 2011 and have a grade point average of no lower than 2.5. This particular Verizon scholarship is only available through five different high schools – two in New York, one in Washington DC and two in Pennsylvania, see website for specifics. On top of these requirements, students must submit a federal financial aid request for 2011. The deadline for this Verizon scholarship program is May 25, 2011.

There are other Verizon scholarships which may be available in 2012 but are currently closed for 2011 with no signs of being renewed. These include the NAAAP scholarship from Verizon and the UNCF Black History Month Essay Contest. While these programs have not been formally selected for renewal by the Verizon Foundation, students should check in with the UNCF and NAAAP websites throughout 2011 just to be on the safe side. It is always worth keeping up to date with programs like these because, while they may not be renewed, it would be relatively silly to miss out on a Verizon scholarship simply because an individual did not feel like taking a couple extra seconds out of their day to double check a renewal status.

Walt Disney Scholarships Unknown

While there are many obvious choices when looking for financial aid today their are those unknown scholarships such as the Walt Disney scholarships to consider.

Walt-Disney-Scholarships
Walt Disney Scholarships

While there are many obvious choices when looking for financial aid today their are those unknown scholarships such as the Walt Disney scholarships to consider. This is one place students often forget to look to which are offered by private foundations, especially from groups like Walt Disney. This is surprising because with the focus Walt Disney has on young audiences, it should be expected that they may be interested in funding academic achievement in the youth they profit so handsomely from.

Walt Disney scholarships come in many different forms, some offered directly through their Junior Achievers awards, and others sponsored from their foundation through specific institutions. Students who are looking to find a Walt Disney scholarship should always check with the university they are enrolled in to see if they participate in any programs with the Walt Disney Foundation, and if they do not, look directly over their website to see if they are eligible for the direct Junior Achievement awards. Keep in mind that although many students may not have thought to look exactly at Walt Disney, enough young people are involved in these programs to make them highly competitive.

Through the the Junior Achievement awards, Walt Disney scholarships normally exist through a couple independent projects such as the Excellence through Ethics essay contest and the Joe Francomano Scholarship. Separately, though under the Walt Disney banner, is the annual Resort Scholarships which should be considered by students as well.

The Walt Disney scholarships offered through the Junior Achievement Awards come through individual programs. One of these programs is the Excellence through Ethics essay contest in which students submit a 500 word essay looking to address an ethical issue in the world at large. This Walt Disney scholarship offers $5,000 to one winner which will be submitted to the university the chosen student is currently or is planning to attend to help pay for tuition costs. The essays are judged by considering whether or not they display a clear understanding of the use of business ethics, have a rational point of view, was original in its analysis and was well written. It is open to all high school seniors who are preparing to head off to college immediately after graduation. Though no 2011 date has been announced yet, this annual little known Disney scholarship 2011 is expected to have an April 30 deadline as it has in every previous year.

Another obscure Disney scholarship offered through the Junior Achievement Awards is the Joe Francomano Scholarship offered annually. Though it only awards a single $5,000 corporate scholarship every year, those who have won previously may renew every year for up to four years making the overall award potentially $20,000. In order to be eligible for the Joe Francomano Scholarship by Disney, students must be a high school senior preparing to graduate and enter college. An essay of less than 250 words must be submitted on a specific question relating to a current event and three letters of recommendation must be submitted for the student. The deadline for this unheard scholarship is February 1, so students should keep this in mind as they plan to apply in the next year.

Though the Walt Disney scholarships offered through the Junior Achievement awards are a great source of financial aid, they are not the only source of these programs. Every year since 2006 the Disneyland Resort Scholarship Program has awarded ten $5,000 scholarships to high school seniors preparing to head off to college. While restricted to residents of Orange County, California, this Disney scholarship 2011 represents its own great award by requiring applicants to have worked at least 100 hours in a single year in local community projects. They will also need to have at least a 3.0 grade point average and also be a graduating high school senior. The deadline for this program is January 31 annually.

Looking at all of these programs and considering the other distant Walt Disney scholarships not listed here, one thing becomes incredibly clear: they are looking for encouraging applicants from youthful demographics. If you have been heavily involved in your community, enjoy thinking about critical issues in the world at large, have a strong academic background and are preparing to head off to college after graduation from high school, the Walt Disney Corporate foundation scholarship programs are likely right up your alley. Get to know them and if you qualify – apply to them.

ME Scholarship by Go Daddy

Have you heard of the Me scholarship by Go Daddy? It’s one of those unknown scholarships and it’s an internet scholarship.

Me-scholarship-Go Daddy
Me-scholarship-by-Go Daddy

Have you heard of the Me scholarship by Go Daddy? It’s an internet scholarship. There are unknown  scholarships to meet almost any occasion or personal background which enables students from a diverse pool to apply to almost any number of scholarships at their disposal. As the Internet and its related technologies pervades our daily lives more each year, it is not surprising to find that some unknown scholarships are offered to students which revolve around the topic. The .ME Scholarship offered by Go Daddy is one such example, as it is available to those students looking for unknown scholarship funding who have used the Internet to the greater advantage of their education over time.

Have you used the Internet to do research for school? Perhaps you have developed social networking pages for your school clubs or academic interests. Maybe you keep or read a blog documenting educational items or engage in conversations on academic topics through forums. If you use the Internet to develop yourself along academic lines, the .ME scholarship, and those like it, may be a good place for you to start looking for additional financial aid. Potential applicants who are interested in the Go Daddy .ME scholarship will want to have a firm grasp on how the Internet has aided them in their studies or contributed to their overall academic progress. Since the Go Daddy Scholarship is built around and for students who use the Internet as a regular part of not only their lives but also in their schooling, it is important that they display clearly how these technologies have impacted them positively over time.

Like all corporate scholarships, the .ME scholarship has a series of specific eligibility requirements. Because of their basic nature, however, a wide swath of above average students will be able to apply. If you have a grade point average over 3.0 along with an ACT score over 18 or an SAT score over 860, you have already met some of the basic requirements of this program. On top of clear academic achievement, the .ME Go Daddy scholarship also requires that students be entering or attending an accredited college by fall of 2011 and be a resident of the United States.

The Go Daddy internet scholarship is highly competitive as it offers $10,000 to only 10 selected applicants. This should tell those interested in the program that they are going to need more than decent grades and good test scores to gain access to the funding. They will need a well thought out description of how the Internet has impacted them and have two glowing letters of recommendation from professionals in the field.

While good grades and scores are going to be a central indicator of a student’s academic abilities, the 500 word essay is truly their moment to shine. It is through the 500 word essay that applicants to the ME scholarship can display not only their grasp of language but flaunt how they have used the Internet in the pursuit of their education. Students should talk about study groups based on the internet, or online lectures they have watched or listened to. Highlight any social media groups they have joined or participated in which encourages learning or education through support and projects. If it has helped a student in learning and it is based on the internet then it should be mentioned in the essay.

The deadline for the 2011 Go Daddy .ME Scholarship is March 31. Because students also need to get two letters of recommendation from professionals it will be very important to mark these date in a calendar and keep an eye on it as it looms. Students will want to approach teachers or perhaps employers to ask for a letter of recommendation and give them enough time to write out a carefully considered letter. The sooner a student approaches their letter writers the better, as professionals will have to write the letter as their work schedules and personal lives permit.

If a student sits on this request for too long, they should not be surprised that they are turned down by their perspective letter writers as they simply may not have enough time to think of a letter before the required deadline. Students should also give their recommenders a white envelope and stamp, as is common practice, so that the letter can be sealed and returned to a student securely. If all the above sounds like you then apply to the Me scholarship soon! This is a pure internet scholarship, unknown to most college students.

Doodle 4 Google Contest for Scholarships

The 2011 Doodle 4 Google Scholarship Contest is a great method to try to find funding for your child’s education by offering a unique scholarship way to do it!

Doodle 4 Google
Doodle 4 Google

The 2011 Doodle 4 Google Scholarship Contest is a great method to try to find funding for your child’s education by offering a unique scholarship way to start thinking about what they want to do with their life. As of January 19, the 2011 Google 4 doodle theme considers the future of the entrant by asking, “What I’d like to do someday…” posing an important question, the answers to which those just starting college are not entirely sure of themselves. Starting this year students across the entire k-12 educational spectrum may submit entries. By engaging young students in this way, Doodle 4 Google contest gives children an honest chance to consider what they are interested in doing, imagining a future where they have accomplished their goals in education. Despite the relatively small pool of winners, every student participating in the program gets to work through their future career choices and dwell positively on what is to come.

Some parents may worry that thinking about college for a young child may be too much too soon, but in reality it is never too early to start thinking about your child’s future. Of course burdening your child with thinking long and hard about their future may do more harm than good, making them worry about something years away. Doodling for Google, however, is a fun and game-like way to accomplish this goal. In many ways Google’s doodling scholarship is asking children to have fun with their imagination, encouraging them to think about and then draw a picture of what they would like to do. There are no wrong answers to the question, no pressure to think deeply or worry about their choices. Maybe they want to do something as fantastic as being the first person on Mars, or something more practical like being a doctor. It offers a rare opportunity for parents to see what their children think about the future, and for a child to explore that future while being creative in the process.

As with many unusual scholarships, it is easy to get lost in the details, worrying that if your child doesn’t perform the absolute best that they won’t win one of the very few awards available nationally. Winning the Google Doodle Contest is only half of the point in this competition though. If you make it about winning or losing, you risk pushing your child into a direction which turns them off to schooling. Rather, this is about the fun involved in the process, the excitement of considering the future and its endless possibilities.

When applying to scholarships, the odds are frequently against you getting the award. This should never deter you from entering your name as a candidate, and, unlike many other corporate scholarships, Doodle 4 Google offers a chance to reflect positively on your child’s future, exploring potential outlooks. Regardless of winning, this process should hopefully encourage your student to think of a bright future, inspiring them to imagine themselves in terms of what they may become.

Big Scholarships for College are Unusual

Big scholarships for college are unusual scholarships because they are so large. Many large scholarships come from big corporations.

Big Scholarship for College
Big Scholarships

When you think about college scholarships for yourself, you are probably hoping for some big scholarships – or those that award large scholarship sums of money. Unfortunately, most of the scholarships that you will be eligible for and win are small awards. This doesn’t mean, however, that you shouldn’t know about and apply for the really large scholarships if you qualify. These are unusual scholarships because the awards are so large and definitely not the norm when it comes to student scholarship aid. Less then 1% of students will be able to qualify and win a big scholarship.

[ad]

First you need to understand that big college scholarships come from a wide range of sources. Many colleges offer their own unusual scholarships, and some colleges offer scholarships that are worth more than other colleges. The biggest scholarships offered by colleges will come through the departments. For example, if you are an English Major, you need to seek out large scholarships that are available through the English Department at the college that you attend. Most of these unusually large scholarships are not available for entering freshmen, because you have to prove your value to the department head to be eligible.

The next place you need to turn to for large scholarships is corporations. Because corporations typically have more funds available than small businesses, they can offer larger scholarship awards – and they offer these big scholarship awards to keep the publics opinion of their company fairly high. People tend to not like big corporations that make lots of profit without reinvesting at least a portion of that profit back into communities.

Examples of corporate scholarships that are quite large include a $25,000 Target scholarship;  $25,000 Discover Card scholarship; $20,000 Coca Cola scholarship, a full ride Rhodes Scholarship $20,000 Dell scholarship and the massive Robert Byrd Scholarship Program. This is just a small sampling of the large corporate scholarships that are available through big corporations. Each corporation will have their own eligibility requirements, and their own selection process.

While you are seeking large college scholarships, make sure that you keep your eyes open for fellowships as well. Fellowships award stipends – and you can typically spend your stipend in anyway that you wish. These stipends can be as little as a few thousand dollars, or as high as $45,000. Of course, there will be other requirements that you must fulfill as the winner of a fellowship, such as research work.

It is vital that you understand that the unusually big scholarships are typically not available to average students. In most cases, you must possess some special skill, score very high academically, show true athletic promise, or prove yourself to be extremely civic minded. If none of this applies to you, your search for large scholarship awards may be futile, and you may be better off spending your time applying for numerous smaller obscure scholarships. Many community based local scholarships are quite large, but again you must have shown your value to your community and meet other requirements in order to be considered.

Overall, some of the largest scholarship awards are from athletic scholarships. The big scholarship typically offer the student what we call a ‘full ride.’ This means that the entire cost of the student’s education is covered along with living expense and book. These large scholarships are typically made through the college that the student will be attending – and playing sports for. If getting big scholarships interests you the most consider the above and see if you may fit the criteria to apply.

Apple Scholarships may go Unclaimed

Apple Scholarships are elusive for students in need but many of their scholarship programs are unknown and hard to find and may become unclaimed scholarships.

Unclaimed Apple Scholarships
Apple Scholarships

Apple Computers has been around for a long time. Competitors of Microsoft in the PC world they have made their own name in the computer industry because of their own unique way of doing things. They are fast becoming famous for their contributions to the education community as well and their distinct way of allocating some of their Apple scholarships also has their own unusual touch to it. They are very proud to offer Apple Scholarships for students in need but many of their scholarship programs are unknown and may become unclaimed scholarships because not enough students may apply to them because of their elusiveness.

One of these contributions is called the Apple Scholars Program. They choose outstanding students and award them with a $2000 cash award, an Apple Nano iPod, and a nice computer to take to college with them. They pick the winners by their senior project. May 30th application deadline. This Apple scholarship is the most visable and easy to apply to.

Another Apple computer scholarship is the Blogging Scholarship. They give away a $10,000 Apple scholarship to a student who blogs. The blog site must be unique and interesting. It can be about anything that interests the student. The applicant must be a United States Citizen. He or she also must be attending post secondary education inside of the United States. They have to write an essay to apply. The nominations are closed for this year and deadlines for next year will soon be posted. This Apple college scholarship program could very well become unclaimed.

Apple also has a Science Scholarship. They are giving away $1,000 to a student who is in the field of Library and Information Science. You must be a United States citizen and be studying in this field that we mentioned. You must have a GPA of 3.0 and be currently enrolled in college as an undergraduate or graduate. You need to fill out the applications along with a 300 word essay and turn it in by December 24th, 2010.

They also have a College Scholarships Foundation Minority Student Scholarship. This is also a $1000 award given to one minority student every year. You must also be currently attending full-time in post-secondary education with a 3.0 GPA. They will also require that you write a 300 word essay. The deadline for this is also December 24th, 2010.

Apple also has a College Scholarships Foundation Women’s Scholarship. You need to meet all of the requirements as listed above but also be a female. It is also a $1000 award.

Apple has so many different corporate scholarships that it offers making it difficult to find and apply to. They may become unclaimed scholarships because students simply don’t know about them or where to apply for them. Going to their website does no good in locating an Apple college scholarship other then the Apple Scholars Program. They are almost elusive because they seem to be intertwined with other scholarship programs and sometimes they will discontinue a particular Apple scholarship program and it is no longer available. They must have at least 70 different ones that you can apply for. There are some that are available to anyone in the United States but then there are some that are only available in the states where Apple corporations are. In order to find the ones that are best for you and find the deadlines and requirements you must search for Apple scholarships to see what new Apple scholarship program is available at that time and it will be posted on the internet.

The above were all existing Apple scholarship programs as of the date of the writing of this article, but some may no longer be available. It is a bit unusual that such a large corporation handles their educational support for college students this way but then again Apple has always been one to distance themselves from the crowd and take their own unique road in doing things.

All of the Google scholarship programs have fair qualifying criteria so don’t hesitate to apply and try to see if they can help finance part of your college tuition. They are one of the most unbiased & praiseworthy corporate scholarships that exist today.

Some, however, will only require you to take at least one computer science related course, such as the Google Anita Borg First Years Scholarship Program. Google scholarships are heavily directed in supporting women and minorities going into the computer technology related fields of study. Since this is exactly what Google is all about – computer science, then it makes sense that they would want to lend support to their industry – and what better way to do it? Google Academic Scholarships

The Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship offers numerous Google scholarships to students in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. The Europe scholarship is awarded in the amount of 7000 pounds and the Google Lime Scholarship is awarded in the amount of $10,000. There is no indication as to how many of these scholarships are awarded each year, but multiple awards are made. For either of these scholarships, the student must be studying computer science, and must be disabled to apply.

The Google Hispanic College Fund Scholarship is intended for computer science students, who are Hispanic. It is awarded in the amount of $10,000. Other Google minority scholarships are the Google United Negro College Fund. It is available for African-Americans who are studying computer science, also awarded in the amount of $10,000. As with other Google Scholarships, no indication is given as to how many of these are awarded, although multiple awards are made each year.

There is also the Google Zawadi Scholarship as well offered for African women who were pursuing an education in computer science at the leading universities in Africa. A Google mentor is assigned to winners to offer support in their studies. When selecting the winners of this Google scholarship financial need is required and applicants must have a strong academic background, display leadership skills and must have been involved with notable outside activities that can be documented.

The 2011 Doodle 4 Google Scholarship Contest is a great method to try to find funding for your child’s education by offering a unique scholarship way to start thinking about what they want to do with their life. Students k-12 can submit their written application on ‘what they would like to be doing someday’ for this contest.

Google Conference Travel Scholarships

Aside from all of these above Academic Scholarships, Google also offers what they call Conference Travel Scholarships where Google will award winners with covering the cost of travel to attend one of the many Google conferences or GooglePlex retreats. They include the Google Women of Color Scholarship for the Grace Hopper Conference; awarded to women of color students in the US and internationally, the Google Global Community Scholarship for the Grace Hopper Conference which is awarded to students outside the US, and the Google Travel Scholarship for the AISES National Conference awarded to American Indian Science and Engineering Society for AISES students only. American Fire Sprinkler Association AFSA Scholarship is Easy to Win

Apply and win easy scholarships from the American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA) Scholarship Program. A fire sprinkler scholarship is not based on academics.

AFSA Scholarship
AFSA Scholarship

If your looking for an easy scholarship, look closely at the American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA) Scholarship. The AFSA organization isn’t just about sprinklers. The organization and the AFSA scholarship program are much more important than that. The American Fire Sprinkler Association is a non-profit organization that operates on the international level, promoting education, research, and more to members concerning the importance of fitting buildings with fire sprinklers.

The American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA) Scholarship and AFSA organization were established in 1981. Today, more than 750 individuals and companies are members of the AFSA around the world. The belief of the AFSA is that fire sprinklers save both lives and property – to the tune of billions of dollars each year. The AFSA also works with numerous government agencies to help increase fire safety awareness.

The easy to win AFSA scholarship program is intended to increase awareness even further, and this is how it differs from other types of scholarships. Ten winners are awarded these easy scholarships each year, but those winners are selected by random drawing – not by academic achievements, community service, or any other factor. A simple scholarship drawing is conducted.

In order to enter the drawing, you must read the Fire Sprinkler Essay, provided by the AFSA scholarship website and then take a test. There are ten multiple questions on the test, and it’s even an open book test. For each question that is correctly answered, you will receive one entry for the AFSA scholarship drawing. For example, if you answer all ten questions correctly, your name will be entered into the fire sprinkler scholarship drawing ten times. You may only take the test once.

It is important to understand that even though you have ten entries, even if your name is drawn more than once, you will still only win one of the ten available sprinkler scholarships. The American Sprinkler Association Scholarship is a $2000 award, and if you are a winner, the funds are sent directly to your college or university to help pay for your tuition and books.

Aside from taking the Fire Sprinkler Essay test, you must also be a high school senior at the time that you take the test, and you must be a citizen of the United States, or a legal resident of the United States. If you are a winner, you must enroll in college for the following fall semester after high school, although you could also enroll in summer classes before fall as well. If you have been home schooled, you must be able to prove that you had a course of study that is the same as a high school senior. The AFSA scholarship contest deadline is May 3rd, 2010.

Also important to note; make sure that all information that you put on your application will be verified to ensure that the information is true and correct – but that information is not used to select a winner, and financial need is also not considered.

Finally; if you are one of the ten winners of the American Fire Sprinkler Association Scholarship, you will need to supply additional information to the AFSA so that funds can be released to your school. Of all of the easy scholarships that are available, the AFSA scholarship has to be the easiest to apply for – and possibly the easiest to win, depending on how many entries there is each year.
