Now I might add that the 20 ACT score child applied to many colleges to find that; but he was persistant. We both tried to find colleges with falling enrollment over the last two years.

He also applied to colleges longer (into July) – which is the time that many falling enrollment universities start to lower their qualifying standards. This is the time they start to panic and will put every student just about in one way or another with all kinds of newly formed grants, scholarships and financial aid awards.

The alternative for them is possible extinction simply because operating cost can sink any ship – even colleges if there’s no captain on board overseeing their financials.

Remember colleges are a business, and students are the product that produce their revenue to sustain them. In fact these procedures are most likely already in place; which is why the 20 ACT got the same as the 28 ACT in the story above.

It might have taken longer to get, but this is how unclaimed scholarships can be gotten.

Purdue University, also in Indiana, has recently become well-known for offering automatic scholarships guaranteed easy to apply to. Purdue does take all three sections of the SAT into consideration for automatic scholarship eligibility. Purdue offers $20,000 automatic scholarships over four years for a minimum SAT score of 1850. All application materials must be postmarked by November 15th to be considered for an automatic scholarship at Purdue.

While the competition is not a typical type of scholarship program and does not offer direct tuition assistance, the program does recognize discoveries, research and innovations by awarding unrestricted cash prizes. Prizes for the competition scholarship are awarded to the top three entries within each division. Advisors for winning entrants will also receive a cash prize.

In addition, there should be a patent search and summary conducted. The applicant should also submit any supporting documentation or materials that are relevant. This may include graphs, charts, CDs or DVDs, samples, slides, etc.

All entries are required to be the original idea as well as work product of either a student or a team of students. In addition, the work or product must not have been made available to the public as either a process or a commercial product. While getting access to the Juniata College scholarships for left handers should not be the only determining factor in deciding to head off to Pennsylvania for college, it is certainly something to consider. The AAA Five Diamond Hospitality Scholarship is a $5000 scholarship. It is for students who attend a AH&LF 4-year Hospitality Management program. The criteria for this hospitality scholarship are based on academic records, hospitality work experience, financial needs and any extracurricular activities. The school selects the nominee. The deadline for this scholarship varies each year.

The American Academy of Chefs with the honor society of the American Culinary Federation also offers unusual culinary scholarships to high school students, college students and chefs all over the place. The deadline for these applications has not been announced yet. They do have hospitality scholarships for two schools also. These are Culinary Institute of America which the application deadline is May 1st – but you can apply for next years classes. The other is for the Johnson & Wales University and this deadline is December 1st.

The American Rental Association is also offering unique scholarships in hospitality. They give out a total of 23 scholarships a year. There are ten scholarships of $2,000 each to college-bound applicants, there are ten scholarships of $1,000 each for vocational/technical applicants. There are also two hospitality scholarships of $2,000 each for graduate-level applicants and one hospitality scholarship of $3,000 to the top applicant. These are for degrees in the rental industry of hospitality. This can be for high school students getting ready to go to college or undergraduates. The deadline was May 1st, 2010. But you can apply next year.
