The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) was founded in 1914 and is a non-commercial grouping of radio amateurs in the nation which is designed in supporting the awareness & growth of Amateur Radio throughout the world. They have educational programs for their members that keep them current in their professions. They have over eighty scholarship programs to apply for too!

ARRL Foundation Scholarship Program

The ARRL Foundation-administered unclaimed scholarships are for US citizens and radio amateurs and must be submitted online by January 31st every year. Burger King Scholars Scholarships are Unclaimed

The Burger King Scholarship Program needs to be mentioned on a regular basis because it’s so good in so many ways. In 2016 the foundation awarded three million scholarships to 2,800 students. These unclaimed scholarships and grants range from $1,000 to $50,000 to be used to pay for college cost and post-secondary vocational/technical school. Students who win these awards are judged base on work experience, GPA, community service along with extracurricular activities. Some will be specifically awarded to minorities and current hotel employees and scholarship amounts range from $500 to $6,000. All in all, a few hundred awards will be doled out yearly which always increases a students chances of winning.

The AHLEF does not choose winners based only solely on GPA, or financial need. They look at personal traits outlined in the students essays, as well as work experience in hospitality, honor awards, outside/professional activities, along with academics. Winners will also get a free yearly subscription to the American Hotel & Lodging Association to help build your career. Students can start applying early in the year and will be announced on their website anytime after January 1st. Submission deadline is May 1st.

Tall Clubs International Foundation Unclaimed Scholarships

Multiple club student scholarships are given out yearly of $1,000 by TCI. Also, many affiliate Tall Clubs of TCI have their own local scholarship programs as well and the TCI website can easily tell you if the local chapters do or not. The local winners will be eligible to compete for the scholarship awards at Tall Clubs International and by the non-profit Tall Clubs International Foundation. Requirements are all applicants must be entering the first year of college. Students can submit their applications from September to February 1st.

Ronald McDonald House has been working with disadvantaged students for since the mid-1980s and has served many students with what they need to get through school. Like many of their programs the RMHC scholarship is given out to through Ronald McDonald House chapters located around the country. Local chapters are normally set up to help disadvantaged children get around or through their disabilities, and the organization as a whole has a long and successful history doing this. While the organization did originate in the United States, it has long since expanded into other countries where it offers its assistance where it can. As of 2011 the non-profit is in 52 different countries providing services to the disabled and infirm. Though their work does take them around the world, the RMHC HACER Scholarships are focused in the United States and also accepted around the country whether a local chapter exists or not.

First thing to understand about the RMHC/HACER Scholarships is that it is a targeted unknown minority scholarship. It focuses on students of Hispanic origin who want to pursue their dreams of higher education. Students will need to have at least a 2.7 grade point average, be a United States resident, and can be applying for the HACER scholarship only. All applicants will also need to be a current high school senior who is planning to enroll in a 2 or four year institution of higher education. These requirements must be considered on top of the general eligibility guidelines as provided by Ronald McDonald House charities. General guidelines require verification of enrollment at an institution and that all applicants are under the age of 21.In order to be considered for the Ronald McDonald House Charities HACER Scholarship Program all application materials must be submitted no later than January 28.

Of course students will want to know the relative amount of a Ronald McDonald House Charities HACER Scholarship Program. Every year the program awards a varying number of $1,000 scholarships. In 2010 only three different awards were given out, so students can easily expect the MacDonald’s scholarship to be fairly competitive.
