Unclaimed scholarships for college are found at many colleges today, but you may have to apply to the colleges first to see them and apply later then normal too.

Unclaimed Scholarships for College
Unclaimed Scholarships for College

Unclaimed scholarships for college are found at many college’s today, but you may have to apply to the colleges first to see them; and apply later then normal too.

Thats when the magic happens – after you apply and get to see your financial award letter.

These are the easy scholarships for college!

You sit back after you submit your online application and FAFSA to colleges you’re intersted in and wait for the colleges to work up your award letter.

Certain unclaimed scholarships for college are those financial awards you really don’t know about until after you have submited your application. They are given away to those who fall into a certain qualifying standard which colleges establish for themselves and can even change during the year so as to include more students for various reasons – which are usually based on low enrollment.

Remember; colleges need student enrollment to survive, and keep yearly federal student financial aid coming in from the government. So when enrollment is down they go into survival mode; which means they lower the qualifying gates to entice more students to attend.

They do this by lowering qualifying GPA’s for scholarships, grants and ACT scores. They may even create programs such as Opportunity Grants (which may mean someone with a 20 or below ACT and/or 2.00 GPA’s.

In other words they are allowing students in who previously didn’t qualify; and awarding them great financial aid packages!

This is all good as far as we are concerned on this website because our motto is that all higher education should be fully subsidized for any student who wants to attend college in order to better themselves in life.

When people do graduate form college, they enrich everyone around them, including themselves, and this tranlates into a better world for all of us.

Now; how do I know this?

I’m speaking from recent experience here. Let me give you a personal example of how it worked for me.

It just so happens that my twin children applied to a few colleges; and one with a 3.95 GPA, and a 28 ACT score got a financial aid award equal to my other child who had a 2.94 GPA and 20 ACT.

Now I might add that the 20 ACT score child applied to many colleges to find that; but he was persistant. We both tried to find colleges with falling enrollment over the last two years.

He also applied to colleges longer (into July) – which is the time that many falling enrollment universities start to lower their qualifying standards. This is the time they start to panic and will put every student just about in one way or another with all kinds of newly formed grants, scholarships and financial aid awards.

The alternative for them is possible extinction simply because operating cost can sink any ship – even colleges if there’s no captain on board overseeing their financials.

Remember colleges are a business, and students are the product that produce their revenue to sustain them. In fact these procedures are most likely already in place; which is why the 20 ACT got the same as the 28 ACT in the story above.

It might have taken longer to get, but this is how unclaimed scholarships can be gotten.

If students aren’t picky about where to attend college, then the above can happen to just about anyone.

Apply to universities and colleges with falling enrollments, and later might be better then sooner.

Unclaimed scholarships = easy scholarships.

This is how I accidentally ran across, and got unclaimed college scholarships with my two darlings – and you can too!

What a pleasant surprise!

Eastern Michigan Unclaimed Scholarships may be the Easiest
Eastern Michigan Unclaimed Scholarships may be the Easiest

When it comes to unclaimed college scholarships, Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti MI, may be tops on the list for students looking for easy scholarships at this time.

Why?

This university is looking to increase declining enrollment; which is a common problem nowadays with most colleges as competition heats up for students looking for the best financial aid for themselves, and who want to have as little student loan debt as possible upon graduating.

This is a recipe for easy scholarships for college; in the form of unclaimed college scholarships!

If a student applies here, they may be pleasantly surprised at what their financial aid letter is giving them. The only way to find out what yours will be is to apply and find out for yourself.

Every year Eastern Michigan gives out scholarships in millions of dollars to students who are either needy financially or those who have performed well above expectations. It is always a good thing to encourage exemplary performance by rewarding the students who have outdone themselves accordingly.

Founded in 1849, Eastern Michigan University (EMU) is located in Ypsilanti Michigan, just 35 miles from Detroit. The university holds more than 23,000 students annually and offers a variety of courses, from degree programs to honors programs.

The university is a very good choice for any student who would love to study in an environment that enables free thinking, and cultures the student to become a responsible member of the society when they graduate.

There are different types of scholarships that the school awards students every year, and all of them depend on different selection criteria. Scholarships are not only available for continuing students, but freshmen also are able to enjoy scholarships when they are enrolled into the school at the beginning of their studies.

Due to the fact that freshmen come from different schools that have different grading systems, the selection criteria for awarding scholarships have since been updated to cater for GPA, ACT and SAT result scores.

Therefore all the students who are coming to the school have a fair playing field when it comes to the selection criteria, and no one is locked out if they meet all the criteria required.

The exclusive awards are normally given to one student only. Such awards are highly competitive, and include the Presidential Scholarship award, which caters for full tuition, full room and boarding facilities. For you to be considered for this scholarship, you must have been registered for and competed in the Presidential Scholarship Competition (PSC).

Another exclusive scholarship award is Regents Gold Scholarship, which is also very competitive. In terms of the allocation, this scholarship award only caters for tuition, and to be eligible you must have been registered for and competed in the Presidential Scholarship Competition (PSC).

The Emerald Scholarship is not competitive, and students are automatically considered for this award once they have been registered or enrolled in the institution.

The award is normally variable, and lies between $1500 and $4500. Students who are applying for this scholarship must make sure that they are very good in as far as merit based selection is concerned because the selection procedure depends on your scores in the GPA, SAT and ACT tests.

The EMU Education First Opportunity Scholarship (EFOS) is also another exclusive scholarship that is awarded to students. There is no competition involved, and students are eligible for award once they are enrolled at the university.

The amount offered caters for full tuition after federal aid, state aid and any other EMU aid has been factored in. In order to be selected you must satisfactorily complete and submit the FAFSA, you have to be eligible for Pell Grant, be a resident of Michigan or Ohio and obtain a minimum GPA of 3.0or ACT of 20 points.

These are not the only awards available at the institution. Others include the National Scholars Program, which is also automatic, and provides up to $15,600.

It is important to note that this award normally pays only the difference between the out-of-state and the in-state tuition for the students that are qualified to apply.

However, in the event that you are from Michigan or Ohio, your fees are normally levied as in-state tuition so you are not eligible to receive this award. You must however attain a 2.75 GPA, SAT of 950 points and ACT of 20 points to be considered for successful award of the scholarship.

Come Home to Eastern (Come Home to Michigan Award) is also another award (clearly an unclaimed scholarship) that is normally given to students on automatic basis as long as they have been registered and enrolled at the institution. You will however need additional verification besides the predetermined qualification requirements in order to make sure that you are eligible for the $15,600 award.

As you can see, Eastern Michigan Scholarships and Grants are being offered in a generous fashion at this time from this public university.

See what your Unclaimed scholarships will be!

Look into applying here because this college is being aggressive in attracting incoming students with their unclaimed scholarships and grants and financial aid.

Beside that, there are criteria that are set by the school which students must meet in the event that they want to be awarded renewable scholarships. Such are scholarships that are renewed every other academic year.

Scholarships Unclaimed from Spring Arbor

After high school becoming a Spring Arbor Cougar may be something to look into because of their unclaimed college scholarships.

If you do not believe that you can go to Spring Arbor University located in Michigan because you may not financially be able to afford the education, then investigate the Spring Arbor University financial aid opportunities open to incoming students.

Spring Arbor is different from a lot of universities because they are a Christian university that relies on the fact that they are the meeting center for faith in God and the education you need to survive in the world of man.

This university was established more than one hundred forty years ago and has educational locations located in Michigan and in Ohio.

There are several unique scholarship and financial aid programs open to new students at Spring Arbor University. One of the easier scholarships available is the National Merit scholarship that can cover as much as sixty percent of the standard tuition costs.

Yes – 60%!

To be eligible for this scholarship you will need to enroll at Spring Arbor University as a full-time student. You also have to enroll at the university the same year that you graduate from high school. That means you will graduate in early summer from high school and enroll to begin taking classes at the university in the fall of the same year. You must maintain a 3.5 grade point average. You can apply for this scholarship by submitting confirmation to the national Merit Semifinalist status.

The Trustee Scholarship will provide twelve thousand dollars a year to eligible applicants for a period of not more than four consecutive years. You do not have to make a separate application to be considered for this easy to apply scholarship. Your enrollment paperwork will be used as a determining application. You will be required to maintain a 3.5 grade point average to maintain the scholarship qualification status.

The Presidential scholarship to Spring Arbor does not require the student entering the college to fill out any additional applications to be considered for the award. The scholarship can provide as much as ten thousand dollars per year for a period of four consecutive years. You will be required to maintain a 3.5 grade point average to keep the scholarship and be able to renew it each year.

The scholarships will look at the points you have accumulated according to the eligibility table for freshmen entering the university. To determine how many points you have you have to consider your grade point average that you had in high school. A 3.50 to a 4.0 grade point average will earn four points on the eligibility table. 3.30 to 3.49 grade point averages are given three points. 3.20 to 3.29 grade point averages are given two points. 3.0 to 3.19 grade point averages are scored with one point.

Then you consider the points you earned on the eligibility chart for where you were ranked in your high school graduating class. If you were in the top ten percent of your class you will be awarded four points. A student that was in the eleven to twenty percent of their class will be given three points. If you were ranked in the twenty first to the thirtieth percent of your class you will get two points.

Finally the ACT score you received will determine the rest of the points you have. If you score between twenty nine and thirty six on the ACT you will receive five points on the eligibility table. An ACT score of twenty five to twenty eight will get you four points. A score of twenty three to twenty four will get you three points. A score of twenty one to twenty two will get you two points. A score of twenty will get you one point.

Some scholarships require you to have an eligibility point score of twelve or higher to be qualified to apply.

Spring Arbor Unclaimed Scholarships are disguised!

Here’ the best part about Spring Arbor Scholarships. If you have to take out student loans during your time at Spring Arbor and when students graduate with them, they will be forgiven if the student cannot find work. Sounds to good to be true but it is. I would suggest that all students interested in attending SA contact the admissions office to discuss this program further in detail.

Automatic Scholarships Guaranteed Easy

Given the cost of attending college, automatic scholarships can be a great solution to help many families reduce the cost of a higher education. They are easy scholarships guaranteed to pay your tuition if you fit their criteria. You fill out the required paperwork and you will get the monies to help pay your college cost. It seems simple and it really is because fortunately for many this is how it works. It can work for you this way and that’s why it’s worth the time looking into automatic scholarships for college.

Prospective college students may be quite surprised to learn that a number of colleges provide automatic scholarships to those students who receive high scores on the SAT. These easy scholarships are not based on financial need and students are not required to complete special applications. They simply need to apply, score well on the SAT and they will receive an automatic scholarship. One of the keys to receiving such an easy guaranteed scholarship is applying early, at least by September of the student’s senior year in high school. Furthermore, they must score well on the SAT, but the minimum scores do vary from one school to another. This is precisely why many experts recommend taking the SAT at least four times.

One such university offering automatic scholarships for outstanding SAT scores is Berea College in Kentucky. This college is classified as a ‘work college.’ This means students do not pay tuition to attend school there. Instead, they pay for college through a work exchange. All students are required to have a job on-campus and work a minimum of ten hours per week. Students are paid for their work; however, a portion of their pay goes toward their college tuition. Admission to the school is highly competitive. College work-study is a great way to attend college and pay for it all at the same time. We high endorse them.

Guaranteed tuition is also offered to students accepted into Kentucky’s Alice Lloyd College. Students are also required to work 10-20 hours per week at the school. The college offers a guaranteed tuition policy for students who reside in one of the 108 central Appalachian counties. The cost to attend the school is met through a combination of scholarships, grants and the Student Work Program.

The Curtis Institute of Music also provides full-tuition scholarships to all students who are admitted. The school is highly competitive and only 160 new students are admitted each year.

Students who are interested in a full-tuition scholarship as well as a guaranteed employment position upon graduation may wish to apply to CUNY Teach Academy. The City University of New York provides full scholarships to students enrolled in the Teacher Academy. All students who enroll are eligible. In addition, graduating students will receive a full-time teaching position in school in NYC.

Easy automatic scholarships guaranteed in Indiana

Indiana University also offers automatic scholarships. Unlike other automatic scholarships at many others schools, the guaranteed scholarships offered at Indiana University are based only on the Math and English sections of the SAT. The writing section of the SAT is not considered when determining automatic scholarship eligibility at Indiana University. The IU Excellence scholarship is worth a total of $36,000 per year spread out over four years. The easy scholarship is awarded to residents of Indiana who have a minimum SAT score of 1330 or ACT score of 30 and a minimum GPA of 3.80.

The IU Distinction scholarship is also worth a total of $36,000 over four years and is awarded to out-of-state students (including international students) who have a minimum Act score of 30 or SAT score of 1330 and a minimum GPA of 3.80.

Mensa Scholarships are Easy to Apply For

Mensa scholarships are easy to apply for because anyone can apply for them and you don’t have to be a Mensa member to apply to them, with exception to one award.

mensa scholarships
Mensa Scholarships

Mensa scholarships are easy to apply for because anyone can apply for them and you don’t have to be a Mensa member to apply to them, with exception to one Mensa scholarship – the Mensa Member Award Program. Even though they are an easy scholarship to apply to; the simple part of this scholarship may end there. When you have Mensa members with a super IQ submitting their applications you could find some very stiff competition for this scholarship – or maybe not. It’s hard to say actually because just because students have high IQ’s doesn’t mean they can run the world perfectly if asked to do so. In fact many intelligent individuals cannot write very good essays when asked to do so, and the Mensa scholarships ask for this when submitting applications.

Bottom line is – apply if you fit the criteria and you’re a good writer then you may have a chance to win a Mensa scholarship (essays are required for all Mensa scholarships). These awards are worth trying to win. If you win one then this one award can carry you on to land a job quickly once when you are graduated and in the job market. This will separate you from the crowd and many companies only hire these types of applicants (unique and award specific).

Mensa scholarships are sponsored by the Mensa Education & Research Foundation. These scholarships are completely based on essays which are composed by applications. Unlike many other scholarships, consideration for these awards is not based on academic program, grades or financial need.

Mensa is considered to be the oldest and largest high-IQ society throughout the world. This non-profit organization offers membership to individuals who score at least at the 98th percentile on a standardized intelligence test. Mensa was originally founded by a British lawyer and scientist, Dr. Lancelot Ware, and Roland Berrill, an Australian lawyer in 1946. The two men had the idea of establishing a society specifically for people of very high intelligence, with the only qualification for membership in the society being a high IQ. One of the goals of the organization was to be free from any type of social distinction, including religious views, race, etc. The name of the society is taken from two Latin words to mean a type of round-table society of minds. In addition, Mensa was also established to be completely free from any political points of view. The second major branch of the society was the American Mensa branch.

The Mensa Educational & Research Foundation is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in a variety of areas of intelligence. The strategic focus and mission of the foundation are primarily directed at education, awards and scholarships. The Mensa Foundation publishes a minimum of three issues of the Mensa Research Journal annually. Approximately $60,000 is awarded through Mensa’s scholarship program. The program is administered by some 400 volunteers from across the country. Awards presented recognize research, practical achievement and education in creativity and intelligence. In addition, the Foundation sponsors educational activities that include a podcast series known as Conversations with Mensa. The Foundation also sponsors projects for gifted children, including the Mesa for Kids website. Mensa was founded in 1971 in order to pursue excellence in the use and study of intelligence.

The application process for Mesa scholarships begins September 15th and closes on January 15th. Applicants who are considering applying for scholarship program should understand the United States program is quite extensive and covers approximately 75% of the nation. Applicants for the scholarship program are not required to be members of Mensa; however, members of the organization are encouraged to apply for a separate scholarship program; the Mensa Member Award Program. The Foundation also sponsors the international scholarship program. This program is open to Mensa members from other countries as well as their dependents if they are attending college in the U.S. To qualify for this scholarship program, applicants should be age 25 or younger.

A number of $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually by Mensa. The Copper Black Award is issued to any Mensa member for specific creative achievement that has practical value. The award may also be issued for any innovation that has actually been implemented, in part or whole.

The Distinguished Teacher Award is given to recognize a professor, teacher or instructor on any educational level who has had a positive influence on education as a whole or a member of Mensa.

The Awards for Excellence in Research are given on an international basis for outstanding research on intellectual giftedness, intelligence or any other related field.

The Intellectual Benefits Award was established to recognize the application of the intellectual abilities of a member of Mensa that have resulted in a benefit to society that is tangible.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented annually for recognition of contributions over a lifetime to the field of intelligence as well as related subjects. This award is given alternately between U.S. and international nominees annually.

The Mensa Press Award is given to recognize excellence in writing regarding human giftedness and intelligence in media that is specifically designed for lay audiences.

Mensa also underwrites a variety of programs that were established to support gifted youth. Such projects include the Young Mensans’ groups.

Apply to the Mensa scholarships if you fit the criteria (a good essay writer) because they may be easier scholarships to win then you think!

Every single year the Federal Trade Commission investigates such fraudulent claims especially in regards to unclaimed scholarships. There are entities out there that tell you they can hook you up with unused scholarship money. They make money by asking you for membership fees, application fees, and more. They make you elusive promises but in the end they are just going to take your money and run. community-service-scholarships
Scholarships for Community Service

Community service scholarships are available to those students who have displayed a clear passion for working within their neighborhoods, towns, or regions to do what they can to lend a helping hand where needed. While many scholarships often involve community service as a portion of their requirements for showing the merit necessary to get access to an award, most of them are not built up around the idea of community service being the primary pillar on which merit is based. Students who are interested in getting potentially easy scholarships for community service will often not only need to be involved in volunteer activities but have a clear drive or passion in what volunteer activities they involve themselves in.

Applicants to community service scholarships for college should ask themselves a couple of really key questions – what is it that attracts them to community service and why have they remained such regular volunteers? Answering those two questions will go a long way towards helping potential community service scholarship applicants write their essays and prepare for potential interviews by selection committees.

There are numerous possible easy scholarships for community service available to applicants with the zeal and drive if one knows where to look. A great place to check for community service scholarships is through local Rotary Clubs. Known for their charitable giving and dedication to community service, it is no surprise that these organizations often offer programs which support their volunteer oriented interests. As a great example of such a community service scholarship, the Rotary Club of Winchester, Massachusetts provides a varying number of $5,000 scholarships every year to students who meet their slogan of, “Service above self.” All applicants must be residents of Winchester, MA, be graduating from high school, be accepted to college and be able to show that they have actively sought out to participate in community service or promote peace in the world. All applications must be turned in by April 1 of every year. Look for a Rotary Club near you to apply.

The Christopher Reeve Award scholarship for community service for high school seniors is awarded every year by the Heart of America Foundation’s Heroes of the Heart program. This community service scholarship awards $1,000 to a student who has displayed exceptional compassion through community service activities. A previous winner of the award represents a strong example of what it may take to win such an award. Having at least 8,000 hours of community service formally logged as well as being responsible for raising more than $40,000 to fight malaria, the 2010 winner is a shining star with regards to her volunteer services. All students must be nominated for this award and nominees will need to be high school seniors. There are no restrictions on who may nominate students. All nomination materials must be submitted by September 1.

Another great source for students who have a lot of community service hours under their belt would be the Lowe’s Scholarship program. This community service scholarship provides (140) $2,500 awards to students every year making this award an easier scholarship to get because so many are given out each year. In order to be eligible for the program students will need to be high school seniors with at least a 3.25 grade point average who will be able to show an incredible commitment to community service throughout their young lives.

Alongside the Lowe’s community service scholarship is the Carl Buchan program which gives out (50) different $5,000 scholarships to deserving students. All applicants interested in this latter program will need to be high school seniors graduating or college undergrad students who have gone to school for at least one full time semester. This particular community service scholarship is reserved only for Lowe’s employees who have maintained a 3.25 gpa while also having a strong commitment to community service. The deadline for these to programs is normally in late February opening to interested applicants the prior year in mid-December.

Applicants to these community service scholarships and those like them will need to have a strong commitment. This sort of commitment rarely comes out of some interest in scoring points with scholarship committees later on. While not every applicant will have the 8,000 hour of community service the winner of the Christopher Reeve scholarship did, showing a strong dedication to helping those in need should be more than enough for many programs.

Of course students will need to maintain their full time status and continue working towards a major which meets STEM requirements. It never hurts to start planning for the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program early and students who may be graduating in 2012 or even 2013 would be well advised to start participating in extracurricular activities which will reflect on them well in their applications.

Culinary Scholarships

Culinary Trust scholarships for cooking are awarded to those students who are interested in not just becoming cooks, but the best they possibly can at preparing food. This program represents a likely easy scholarship for a number of reasons. First, the number of possible awards is fairly high, on average having around 28 different people given culinary school scholarships for cooking. Second, although competition will likely still be fairly high, culinary arts as a field is rather sparsely populated as compared to other fields like engineering or economics. Finally, students who are really interested in the culinary arts will be interested in finding ways to help fund their education, making applying to programs like the Culinary Trust scholarship not only necessary in many cases, but a given for dedicated students.

Unlike other general scholarships, this culinary arts scholarship works with specific schools which are well-known for the level of students which they produce and enables students who may not otherwise be able to afford such a program the ability to attend one of these institutions. Culinary arts students looking for cooking scholarships that are easy based on the number of awards given out will find the Culinary Trust scholarship a program worth looking into without a doubt.

Before going into further details, interested students will want to know what eligibility requirements exist for the program. In order to be eligible for this imaginable easy scholarship for cooking through the Culinary Trust scholarship program students will need have at least a 3.0 grade point average and have some experience with cooking food in one form or another. While undergraduates are not necessarily required to have formal vocational experience in the field, any students looking to continue their education at the post-graduate level will need to have a resume filled with field experience.

Any applicant looking to operate under an independent study will need to prepare a proposal of where they intend to study and what their study will entail. The awards for this program vary depending on financial need and where a student will be studying. Students going to a formal institution such as Le Cordon Bleu in Australia may find that their entire tuition is covered whereas students going for independent study may only have some of their living arrangements paid for. While 28 scholarships are available competition will likely be fierce considering the amount of awards and locations students have available to study at. The yearly deadline for this program is normally in February.

Since the Culinary Trust Scholarship awards money based on merit, experience, goals, skills and references, students interested in having a heads up over competition for this cooking scholarship are going to want to try to get a pretty inclusive resume. Because the award amounts can go as high as $90,000 students will be falling over themselves trying to get access to the program. Getting experience through line cooking, or even interning at specific institutions will be useful. Above all, planning for this program will be necessary. While a student may be interested in the culinary arts as a field, if they want access to a Culinary Trust scholarship they will want to make sure they are attending a school with facilities which may help them get there. For instance, attending just a community college that has a fully equipped kitchen which serves at a restaurant on the school as part of the curriculum will do a lot for a developing resume. While this certainly will not necessarily cinch the competition in an applicant’s favor, it will go a long way towards helping to show the selection committee dedication, experience and interest.

Along with developing experiences in the field, students will also want to look towards developing skill sets. Whether these skills involve dessert making, producing delicious pastries, making fantastic sauces, any skill which involves cooking will help a student get access to a Culinary Trust scholarship. While these sorts of things are expected at the graduate level, students who are undergraduates looking for one of the easier scholarships for cooking available through the Culinary Trust would bring a strong showing on their applications if they too have these qualities.

Go Krogering for Kroger Scholarships

Kroger scholarships are not that easy to find and mostly made available at different levels around the country.

Kroger Scholarships

Kroger scholarships are not that easy to find because they are mostly made available at different levels around the country. A grocery store located mainly in the Midwest of the United States, Kroger scholarships are mostly centered in the same region. Other than offering programs through local institutions in this part of the country, the United Food and Commercial Workers union which operates in many areas including Kroger food stores also offers a scholarship which many Kroger employees will be eligible for. As a store which employs large numbers of young people, it is no surprise really that generally Kroger scholarships are available for high school students entering college or even college students looking to study business or other related fields.

Apart from the store scholarship offered through the UFCW there are rumors of a Kroger scholarship being offered directly to employees. Unfortunately such information is incredibly sparse and, other than popular rumors, little evidence can be found to substantiate the claims. That being said, it is often the case that large businesses offer tuition reimbursement programs to employees. Students with questions about such a program should consult with their store manager or with Kroger’s human resources department directly. Information should also be available in the employee manual, but all the forms for such a program will likely eventually have to be gathered from the company’s HR department.

One of the Kroger college scholarships available is offered in collaboration with the National Pharmaceutical Association Foundation. The Future Pharmacists Future Leader Kroger scholarship was established in 2007 and has no indication of having been canceled or closed. All applicants interested in the program must be members of the NPAF student organization and have experience in a retail environment. Applicants should also maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average and, important to know, those who have applied before may reapply for the program regardless of whether they won an award or not. The program awards up to $1,000 to multiple students every year. All application materials must be received no later than January 31 of each year.

The United Negro College Fund offers a Kroger scholarship to students who reside in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina or Tennessee. Interested students should be entering college as freshmen for the first time in 2011 while having maintained a 2.5 grade point average. It awards up to $5,000 to winning students and is open to those from any major or program. Applications must be completed online through the UNCF scholarship website and are due no later than April 5, 2011.

Students who are enrolled at Cedarville University may be excited to know that a Kroger scholarship is offered directly through their institution. The award for this program is $3,500 and is open to students in the liberal arts, business and pharmacy majors. In order to be eligible for the program students must be of an ethnic minority, have a 2.5 grade point average, be available for work up to forty hours a week and have reliable transportation in order to make it to and from the work place. Making the deadline for this Kroger scholarship is as simple as making Cedarville University’s deadline for applications for financial aid.

Considering the previously mentioned UFCW program, though not a direct Kroger scholarship, the scholarship will be open to most Kroger employees. It is available to any member of the UFCW who has belonged to the organization since January 1 of a given year. Children of UFCW members are eligible to apply if they are under the age of 20 before May 31. The program awards $2,000 for recipients each year they are in college so long as they have maintained standards laid out in the acceptance agreement. While not open only to Kroger employees, many such employees are active members of the UFCW and should seriously consider applying for this particular related store scholarship. Certainly other Kroger scholarships do exist but they are not easy scholarships to uncover and apply too. The applicant pool for the UCFW scholarship is limited immediately only to active members of the union and may represent the best bet for many students in getting access to easy financial aid.
