To qualify for the Excellence Award students must be in the top half of their graduating class, have a composite score on the ACT of 27 or higher or a combined math and critical SAT score of 1210 or higher, be a Missouri resident, a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and enroll at MU during the first semester following high school graduation. Students must also graduate from an accredited high school. Students graduating in the top half of their class with the required SAT/ACT scores will receive $1,000 while students graduating in the top 25% of their class with the required ACT/SAT scores will receive $2,000. The Curators Scholars Award is awarded to students who are in the top 5% of their graduating class and who also have a combined math and critical reading score of 1250 or higher on the SAT or a composite ACT score of 28 or higher. The scholarship award amount is $3,500 per year and is renewable for another three years. No application is required for this automatic scholarship. Students are automatically considered for the scholarship once they are admitted to the university.

The Quadrangle Award is automatically given to students who are graduates of non-accredited high schools or who were home-schooled and who are Missouri residents. Students must also have a composite ACT score of 30 or higher and a combined critical reading and math SAT score of 1330 or higher. The award is worth $2,000 per year and is renewable for an additional three years.

Other University of Missouri automatic scholarships include the Mizzou Scholars Award. To qualify for this scholarship students must have a composite ACT score of 33 or higher or a combined math and critical reading score SAT score of 1440 or higher by December 1st of their senior year in high school. In addition, students must have an excellent academic record in high school. The scholarship is worth $10,000 per year. University applications must be submitted by December 1st of the student’s senior year to be considered. The scholarship is renewable for an additional three years.

Students with high enough SAT or ACT scores may also wish to be considered for the Chancellor’s Scholarship. Although not among the University of Missouri automatic scholarships, it is a scholarship worthy of applying for. In order to qualify for this scholarship students must have a composite ACT score of 33 or higher or a combined math and critical reading score on the SAT of 1440 or higher. Scores must be earned and submitted by December 1st of the applicant’s senior year in high school. Applicants must also have an excellent academic record in high school. The award amount for this likely unclaimed scholarship is worth full fees, room and board and books for one year. The scholarship is renewable for up to three years. One recipient is selected for this scholarship based on interviews and essays.

The Diversity Award is available for students who have a competitive high school academic record. Record includes class rank, grades and SAT or Act scores. Students must also be a member of an ethnic group that is under-represented in higher education in Missouri. Award amount is $2,500 per year for Missouri residents and $2,500 for non-residents. The IU Prestige scholarship is $5,000 per year for four years and is awarded to residents of Indiana or out-of-state students who have a minimum SAT score of 1260 or ACT score of 28 and a minimum GPA of 3.80.

The IU Recognition scholarship is $2,000 per year over four years and is automatically awarded to residents or out-of-state students who have a minimum SAT score of 1170 or ACT score of 26 and a minimum GPA of 3.70.

Purdue University, also in Indiana, has recently become well-known for offering automatic scholarships guaranteed easy to apply to. Purdue does take all three sections of the SAT into consideration for automatic scholarship eligibility. Purdue offers $20,000 automatic scholarships over four years for a minimum SAT score of 1850. All application materials must be postmarked by November 15th to be considered for an automatic scholarship at Purdue.

The first of the migrant scholarships to be offered was the Joseph Mattera National Scholarship Fund for Migrant Children. The scholarship was started in 1974 in honor of the father of the center’s founder, Dr. Gloria Mattera. Later, the name of the scholarship was updated to include Gloria Mattera following her death in 1988. Throughout the years, the number and size of the immigrant scholarships awarded has grown in light of the generous donations of many individuals, along with fundraising activities.

The Gloria and Joseph Mattera National Scholarship Fund for Migrant Children has a value of between $250 and $500. 75 to 100 of these easy scholarships for migrant students are awarded annually. There is no deadline to apply for the scholarship. An essay must be submitted to apply along with one letter of reference.

The Frank Kazmierczak Memorial Migrant Scholarship has a value of $1,000. Only one of these immigrant scholarships is awarded on an annual basis. The Margaret Rayley New York State Migrant Student Scholarship is given in order to recognize educational achievement in migrant farmworker students who have a history of migrating to or within the state of New York. This scholarship has a value of $500 and is offered annually to one student or may be divided among two or more students. The deadline to apply is April 15th.

The Friends of Senator Jack Perry Migrant Scholarship honors migrant farmworker students from New York State who need scholarship assistance. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is April 15th. Students must demonstrate a financial need to qualify for this migrant scholarship.

The Aurelio “Larry” Jazo Migrant Scholarship is given as a memorial to Aurelio “Larry” Jazgo, who was a long-time migrant educator. The scholarship has a value of $500 and is awarded to a migrant farmworker student who has recently migrated to Illinois for the purpose of agricultural employment. Applicants must also demonstrate scholastic achievement and financial need. The deadline to apply is May 15th.

The Robert Apicella Good Samaritan Migrant Scholarship recognizes a migrant farmworker senior high school student from the state of New York who requires post-secondary scholarship assistance. Applicants must also have demonstrated a giving and caring attitude to their community or another individual. The easy scholarship has a value of $500. The application deadline is April 15th.

The Juanita Crippen Memorial Scholarship recognizes a senior high school student from a migrant farmworker family in St. Lawrence, Franklin or Clinton Counties, New York. The Mensa Educational & Research Foundation is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in a variety of areas of intelligence. The strategic focus and mission of the foundation are primarily directed at education, awards and scholarships. The Mensa Foundation publishes a minimum of three issues of the Mensa Research Journal annually. Approximately $60,000 is awarded through Mensa’s scholarship program. The program is administered by some 400 volunteers from across the country. Awards presented recognize research, practical achievement and education in creativity and intelligence. The graduate scholarship program gives out $1,000 to five different students every year.
